What information is stored on the ShareTool servers?
ShareTool 2 completely eliminates the need to remember IP addresses & port numbers. You now connect remotely by entering an email address & password.
The ShareTool servers store only the email address associated with your ShareTool account, a secure cryptographic hash of your account password, and the IP address of the machine sharing your network.
Your SSH username & password is never transmitted to the ShareTool servers. This ensures that no one can gain unauthorized access to your machine, even if the ShareTool servers are compromised.
As well, none of your network traffic travels through (or is stored on) our servers.
