Why do some MKV files fail to convert?
This is not a bug or shortcoming in Playback.
MKV files can be made using various audio/video codecs. Unfortunately, not all are supported.
If you encounter a MKV file that fails to convert properly with Playback, download VLC (http://www.videolan.org). It will tell you what video/audio codecs the files are using:
1. Select "Media Information" from the Window menu.
2. Switch to the "Codecs Details" tab.
3. Send that info to playback at yazsoft dot com. If the audio/video codec can be added to Playback reliably, we'll do it.
